Reading About the Biology of War

Following a tip from a commenter on Josh Goldstein’s podcast about the influence of gender constructs on war, I’ve taken to reading Judith L. Hand’s 2003 book, Women, Power, and the Biology of Peace. Word is that Hand argues for a much stronger biological influence on war than does Goldstein. I’m only three sentences in, but Hand knows how to get me hooked:

Can humans create a future without war? Many people don’t think so.

What if “many people” are wrong?
