Don Gomez at Carrying the Gun tells of a twist in his training evolution at Officer Candidate School:
“it was more important to do the right thing as he saw it and risk failing the lane than to take the easy option and follow through on the briefed plan.”
It’s an interesting story. I recall from the 2007 Col. John Boyd Memorial Conference at Quantico that the Norwegian Navy challenges candidates with similar twists in their version of OCS.
